Abstract

Conveying lessons to deaf students not be likened to teaching normal child. Limitations in hearing causes
the deaf students difficult to process information.Learning will be more effective if the materials is visualized using
media. But the number media in the schools still limited and the ability of teachers in developing the media still
low. Therefore, be held community engagement in the form of training and mentoring which aims to improve the
ability of teachers in developing computer based media. The training involves 19 people teachers who derived
from SLB N 1 Singaraja. Training and mentoring be implemented by stages 1) developing training materials, 2)
presentingabout the importance of mediafor deaf, 3) training for basic skill media development, 4) assistance and
feedback. The training and assistance has successfully upgrading teacher skill in developing media.This can be
seen from the percentage of participants capable in producing media up to 31,6 % and the quality of some
medias produced is good.
