IDENTIFIKASI, KARAKTERISASI, DAN SOLUSI ALTERNATIF PENGELOLAAN LIMBAH LABORATORIUM KIMIA
This study aims to identify and determine the characteristics of chemical laboratory waste Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha and seek alternative solutions management. The research method used is descriptive analytic with qualitative approach. The identification and characterization results indicate the following types of waste: residual solid waste of practicum activities such as metal salt, inorganic solids, residual waste water, potentially hazardous and toxic wastewater, gases and vapors of harmful compounds, and domestic waste. Analysis using AAS showed concentration of Fe = 9,15 ppm and Cu = 1,316 ppm, pH = 1,2; TDS = 358 mg/L. Waste treatment using a cyclic adsorption method utilizes a combination of coconut shell charcoal, activated straw, and rock shale as an adsorbent capable of absorbing and reducing Fe and Cu metal up to 81-92%. Have implications on reduce the risk of laboratory waste hazards to users and the environment.
