Abstract

The carbon waste of practicum is abundant in laboratory. The waste has not been treated and caused problems.. To solve the problem, carbon waste is activated and reused for practicum. This study aims to determine the efficiency of carbon processing waste in Laboratory Analytical Chemistry FMIPA Ganesha University of Education. Carbon waste of practicum is used as research subjects, while the efficiency of absorption and activation costs is used as research objects. This research was conducted in Analytical Chemistry Laboratory of Chemistry Department of Ganesha University of Education in 2017. To achieve the research objectives, practicum carbon waste was activated at 165oC and 195oC and steamed for 60 minutes and 45 minutes repeatedly. The results showed that the heating of 195oC at steaming 45 minutes showed the best absorption, ie 164.37 mg / g with a cost efficiency of 16.06% per gram. Total savings in a batch of Rp.1,011,886.2
