Abstract

Creativity is needed to create something more interesting and attractive. High creativity of Balinese people can be seen from the number of beautiful Balinese buildings with classic ornaments that are characterized the walls and doors of Balinese buildings. One of the ornaments is- Patra Olanda that has a wide leaves form pattern with the composition of repetition. The innovation of the existence of Patra Olanda as a decoration on the building is applied through various carvings on every part of the building in Bali. Through the exploration of the existence of Patra Olanda on the buildings in Museum Bali as well as some minimalist building ornaments with comparative and experimental methods so as to get the Patra Olanda designs which have more variation and modern attached. The result of this research is obtained through data processing from observation and digital design experiment from common Patra Olanda pattern become various innovative designs that can be applied for various needs such as design for clothing and pattern for decorating the plate. The innovativeof Patra Olanda design is expected to develop the application of unique and classic decorative function to become more dynamic, modern and have economic value in accordance with the era, and indirectly can preserve and increase public knowledge about existence Patra Olanda pattern. In addition, this research is expected to improve the characters of of Balinese arts.
