PEMETAAN SPASIAL DAYA DUKUNG LAHAN PERTANIAN DAN DAYA TAMPUNG PENDUDUK KECAMATAN DI PROVINSI BALI
This study aims to (1) find out the spatial distribution of the carrying capacity status of agricultural land in the sub-district of Bali Province, and (2) to determine the optimal population that can be accommodated in each sub-district. The study was conducted in five districts/cities which selected purposively, that is: Buleleng, Gianyar, Badung, Tabanan, and Denpasar. 36 sub-districts in the five districts were designated as unit analysis of research. Calculation of the carrying capacity of agricultural land and optimal population use land availability and demand approach. We collected the data by recording the documents at the institution where data was obtained and interviewing the key informants as well as the field observation. The results showed that: (1) Map of the carrying capacity status of agricultural land in 36 sub-districts revealed the existence of spatial variation. It was found that 22 sub-districts (61.11%) had deficit carrying capacity status and 14 sub-districts (38.89%) had surplus agricultural land carrying status. (2) The carrying capacity of agricultural land has an impact on the capacity of the population. Sub-districts with deficit status are assured that the population capacity exceeds the optimal population limit, while the surplus sub-district still has the ability to accommodate the population to the optimum population.
