Abstract

This research was an experiment laboratory which aimed at evaluating the secondary metabolites and antifungal activity of essential oils of basil leaves cultivated in Bali. Hydrodistillation were used to extracted Essential oils. Antifungal activity was determined by looking at the inhibitory zone diameter using dual culture method. Phytochemical screening of the essential oils of basil leaves strongly indicated the presence of flavonoids, saponins, terpenoids and tannins. The results of the basil leaves essential oils test on three fungal isolates showed that the growth of fungal isolates was largely inhibited due to the presence of essential oils in the mushroom growing medium and the variation of the concentration of the essential oils of basil leaves also had an effect on the antifungal activity. The higher the concentration of essential oils of basil leaves, the resulting drag zone tendency is also higher for the three fungal isolates used in this research.
