ASESMEN KINERJA UNTUK PENILAIAN KETERAMPILAN BERBICARA BAHASA INGGRIS SISWA SEKOLAH DASAR
The aim of this study is to develop performance assessment instrument as tool to assess students’ speaking competency for English teacher and upper-class students of Elementary schools in Buleleng subdistrict, as well as to examine the quality of the developed instruments. This study applied Logan’s model as the research design. It involved 8 (eight) elementary schools as the representative for each cluster in Buleleng subdistrict. The data were collected based on in depth interview, observation, and questionnaire distribution for the English teachers. They were analyzed qualitatively as the basis to develop the prototype of the product. The prototype then was used as the basis to develop the performance assessment instruments. The total instruments gained as the product of this study were around 11 instruments. They were examined by the experts and user judgements to see the validity and the quality of the instruments. The result showed that the instruments have high validity and belong to excellent instruments. Therefore, they are ready to use to assess students’ speaking competency of elementary upper-class students.
