Abstract




In the history of Balinese civilization, Bali has a significant role, as written in the history that is as evidence that Bali inherited ancient relics. In the terms of Balinese culture, Bali is not only as an heir, but also continuity. Writing Lontar is one of the continuous activities to carry out tradition of Bali. Writing Lontar is a sacred tradition as what is written is Balinese script and implemented with yoga spiritual which is considered to have magical powers and high spiritual values. In Bali, Lontar is recognized as main source of knowledge. Thus, tradition of writing Lontar is an intellectual tradition, as wealth of Balinese people which have to be preserved and disseminated to strengthen the foundation of national identity. As a literate society, it will become a respected society because of the knowledge. In the conclusion, people in a society are expected to have a sense of cultural awareness, to preserve ancestral heritage to be able to maintain sustainable Tradition and Cultural of Bali.
