KELAS BELAJAR MATEMATIKA BERKONTEKS LINGKUNGAN UNTUK SISWA SEKOLAH DASAR DI DESA WANAGIRI

Abstract

This is a social activity for Wanagiri Village in form of informal learning class. We addressed the topics in mathematics, which is focused on two digits multiplication using the environmental context. The topic was chosen after interviewing the teachers. It was mentioned that the multiplication is hardly understood by the students. The subject of the social activity is the fourth grader students of SD 1 and SD 2 Wanagiri together with two representative teachers from both schools. The activity was done in 3 months which aim to increase students’ appreciation in mathematics for daily life application. From the activity, it was found that the students were learning enthusiastically and able to develop their mathematical thinking in solving problem related to multiplication. Also, the students constructed a good understanding and awareness to keep the environment healthy and manage the waste appropriately.
