Pengetahuan “Ethnobeauty Chemistry” dalam Lontar Indrani Sastra

Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi jenis-jenis pengetahuan perawatan kecantikan secara tradisional menurut lontar Indrani Sastra dan menjelaskan manfaat bahan ramuan yang digunakan berdasarkan kandungan kimianya. Penelitian dirancang menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan tergolong jenis penelitian etnografi.  Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik studi literatur dengan melibatkan teks lontar Indrani Sastra dan salinannya, buku Indrani Sastra, serta buku-buku fitokimia dan jurnal ilmiah sebagai subjek penelitian.  Studi literatur dilaksanakan di Perpustakaan Lontar Gedong Kirtya Singaraja dan perpustakaan digital.  Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif.  Temuan penelitian menunjukkan adanya empat jenis pengetahuan ethnobeauty chemistry dalam lontar Indrani Sastra, meliputi pengetahuan faktual, konseptual, prosedural, dan metakognisi.  Bahan-bahan ramuan perawatan kecantikan mengandung vitamin, flavonoid, alkaloid, polifenol, glikosida, terpenoid, steroid, dan asam lemak. Senyawa-senyawa tersebut bersifat antioksidan, anti-inflamasi, antibakteri, antijamur, dan agen kelembaban kulit.  Luaran penelitian ini dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai materi kuliah etnokimia, kimia organik, kimia kosmetik, serta bahan edukasi bagi masyarakat tentang kandungan kimia dan manfaat ramuan obat tradisional untuk perawatan kulit menurut lontar Indrani Sastra.
